The Role: We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic, fully remote team. You'll work alongside passionate industry leaders in a flexible environment. What You'll Do: Develop, Own & Maintain: Build and own robust software solutions using strong Object-Oriented Programming principles and participate in rotational on-call duties to ensure team’s systems reliability Event Streaming: Contribute to big data solutions and message bus systems, particularly Kafka Cloud Infrastructure: Collaborate on AWS services including EC2, ECS, SNS/SQS, RDS, Elasticsearch… you name it Database Management: Apply SQL and NoSQL expertise to support scalable data solutions DevOps Excellence: Work with containerization, infrastructure as code and deployment automation Architect & Modernise: Set technical direction, facilitate architectural conversations and coach teammates through complexity. Design scalable systems and transform legacy systems with an eye for maintainability and thoughtful abstraction Collaboration & Document: Work across disciplines and teams to shape roadmap, improve developer experience, and drive learning through code reviews, while championing technical documentation and design records that stand the test of time Mentor & Motivate: Support other engineers through mentoring and example, encouraging a collaborative and inquisitive team culture About You: Mindset: Team-first inquisitive problem-solver with passion for continuous learning Work Style: Independent and collaborative remote worker who values flexibility Communication: Skilled in translating complex ideas into actionable strategy through documentation and conversation Team Enablement: Natural mentor, proactive contributor to team rituals and someone who brings others along on the journey Technical Mentorship: Model excellence through example while creating space for others to grow and contribute meaningfully Ideal Qualifications: Experience: 9+ years in software development with proven OOP commercial expertise (proficient in at least 2 languages with strong preference for C# and Java), experience with message bus systems (Kafka preferred) and microservices Technical Skills: Deep acumen in system design, scalable architecture, cloud technologies (AWS preferred) and modern software practices. Strong background in infrastructure, DevOps and cloud technologies such as Docker, Terraform. Database Knowledge: Experience with both SQL and NoSQL systems Missing a few skills? That’s fine.
