At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.    Smith+Nephew is seeking a Sr. IT Business Analyst (Mid–Senior Level) to join our Global IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) organization in Costa Rica. The role partners closely with IT BRMs and business leaders across multiple regions to identify technology opportunities, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and enable solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. This is a strategic and stakeholder-facing role focused on digital enablement, operational efficiency, and innovation—not hands-on technical development. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who can bridge business objectives with technology delivery, thrives in an Agile environment, and understands how to build a compelling business case with hard and soft benefits. What will you be doing? Partner with IT BRMs and business stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and technology needs. Translate business goals into clear functional requirements and user stories (documented in Jira). Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint reviews, backlog refinement) and coordinate delivery progress. Perform light project management tasks—monitor timelines, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery. Support business case development and benefits realization tracking for proposed initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and vendors to ensure alignment on design, scope, and business outcomes. Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices, Agile adoption, and stakeholder engagement. Provide domain insights related to any of the following key technology and platforms: Salesforce Sales Cloud, Model N, Power BI, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), SAP, AI/Automation, Web Portals, ServiceMax, and Information Security. What will you need to be successful? Education: Bachelor's Degree. Experience: 3+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst. Languages: Excellent communication skills, exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills to a diverse set of audiences, in English. Strategic & Business Alignment: Partners with stakeholders to connect technology initiatives to business goals, enabling measurable outcomes and supporting benefit realization. Analytical & Agile Expertise: Translates complex needs into clear user stories and requirements; facilitates Agile ceremonies and delivery using tools like Jira. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Builds trusted relationships across regions, communicates effectively, and thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments. Domain & Industry Insight: Brings familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, SAP, Power BI, and CLM; understanding of the medical device or life sciences sector is a strong plus. Preferred: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, Salesforce Administrator or Business Analyst Certification, ITIL Foundation, Agile Business Analyst (ICAgile or equivalent).
