At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.    The Senior project Engineer oversees the seamless transition of manufacturing processes from one location to another, ensuring minimal disruption. Responsibilities include coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and maintaining product quality during the transfer. The role requires expertise in process optimization, problem-solving, and compliance with industry standards. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with stakeholders, including engineering, quality, regulatory, supply planning, procurement, and production teams. Senior Project Engineer also monitors and reports on progress, ensuring that all project objectives are met efficiently. What will you be doing. Manage the transfer of manufacturing processes between locations, ensuring minimal disruption to production. Create detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and milestones for the transfer process. Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, regulatory, supply planning, procurement, production teams, and suppliers to align objectives and address potential issues. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and product quality. Ensure all processes adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Track and report on the progress of the transfer project, addressing any deviations from the plan. Resolve any technical or logistical problems that arise during the transfer to avoid delays and maintain production continuity. Prepare documentation and provide training to ensure the receiving location can operate the new processes effectively. What will you need to be successful? Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and at least 5 years’ professional work experience in new product development, product transfer in a regulated industry (Med Device preferred). Experience with medical device manufacturing methods is highly desirable. Communicate optimally, while working with multi-functional teams, to achieve desired results. Build productive internal/external relationships and collaborate in teams. Complete assignments with directional input and periodic mentorship. The ability to understand, interpret, follow, and improve Inspection, gauging methods and different Quality Systems. Requires organizational and time management skills. Understand basic technical issues and develop solutions with scope of responsibilities. Basic knowledge of Operations deliverables / documentation is preferred. Duties and responsibilities may change as business needs change. Having GD&T knowledge will be beneficial. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. You Unlimited.
