Job Description The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, in conjunction with its major teaching facility, University Health-Truman Medical Centers (UH-TMC), seeks a Program Director for the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program through University Health Physicians , its primary academic group practice. This MFM physician will join our faculty in the Department of OB/GYN at the UH-TMC Health Sciences District and Lakewood locations in Kansas City, MO, which serve a diverse metropolitan area of approximately 2.4 million.   University Health-Truman Medical Centers Level III NICU with a dedicated team of doctors and nurses with special training to care for sick and newborn babies. The fellows rotate at three Kansas City hospitals, providing clinical care for high-risk patients, performing clinical, bench, and translational research, and mentoring residents and students. Each hospital offers excellent exposure to education, with different strengths at each Center. University Health-Truman Medical Center, the UMKC School of Medicine, and Children's Mercy Hospital are on the Hospital Hill campus with access to basic science laboratories. UHTMC cares for some of the highest acuity patients in the region, providing a rich environment of maternal and fetal pathophysiology. In addition to a long, distinguished MFM program, St. Luke’s Hospital provides fellows exposure to a dedicated heart disease and pregnancy clinic staffed by Cardiology and MFM. Children’s Mercy houses the Fetal Health Center, established to provide on-site delivery to infants requiring immediate quaternary care resources. The FHC receives referrals from much of Missouri, Kansas, southern Nebraska and Iowa, and northern Oklahoma and Arkansas for fetal and neonatal structural and functional abnormalities. Approximately 50% of referrals are for structural cardiac anomalies.
