Red Hat’s File System Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to assist with maintenance and development of local and virtual filesystems. You will be working with world-class Linux kernel filesystem developers developing, debugging, and supporting on-disk filesystems such as XFS, ext4, and exfat, as well as the supporting kernel VFS infrastructure and pseudo filesystems such as overlayfs. You will be engaged with Red Hat Enterprise Linux support teams and customers, as well as upstream development communities and users. What will you do: Develop, debug, and support Linux kernel filesystem code. Develop, debug, and support filesystem user space applications. Review code written by others. Use and improve filesystem testing infrastructure. Triage and resolve filesystem bugs reported by customers and QE. Coordinate with team leads, architects, and other engineers to design solutions.
