Job Summary Are you ready to join a game-changing open-source AI platform that harnesses the power of hybrid cloud to drive innovation? The Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) team is looking for a Software Engineer with Kubernetes and MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) experience to join our rapidly growing engineering team. You’ll join an ecosystem that fosters continuous learning, career growth, and professional development.  You will be contributing as a core developer for AI Pipelines, the core MLOps orchestration tool for OpenShift AI. You will work as part of an evolving development team to rapidly design, secure, build, test, and release new capabilities. This role is for an individual contributor who collaborates closely with other developers and cross-functional teams. You will have the opportunity to actively participate in both our downstream efforts as well as the upstream Kubeflow Pipelines project. You should have a passion for working in open-source communities and for developing solutions that integrate Red Hat, open-source, and partner technologies into a cohesive platform. What you will do: Contribute to the architecture, design, development, and testing of new features and solutions for Kubeflow Pipelines and Red Hat OpenShift AI Pipelines Innovate in the MLOps domain by participating in upstream communities, particularly Kubeflow Pipelines Ensure non-functional requirements including security, resiliency, performance, and maintainability are met Write, maintain, and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure product quality, performance, and security Use CI/CD best practices to deliver solutions efficiently into RHOAI Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing recommendations and technical knowledge with team members Collaborate with product management, other engineering, and cross-functional teams to analyze and clarify business requirements Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to ensure proper visibility of development efforts Give thoughtful and prompt code reviews that uphold quality and maintainability standards Proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) for code generation, auto-completion, and intelligent suggestions to accelerate development cycles and enhance code quality What you will bring: Minimum of 2 years of experience developing applications in Go or Python, or another programming language Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other cloud-native technologies Strong foundation in software quality practices, including writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines Ability to quickly learn and use new tools and technologies, including AI-assisted development tools Experience with source code management tools such as Git Good system understanding and troubleshooting capabilities Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills The following will be considered a plus: While a Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related discipline is valued, we prioritize practical experience and technical prowess Understanding of how Open Source and Free Software communities work Experience with development for public cloud services (AWS, GCE, Azure) Experience working with or deploying MLOps platforms UI experience #LI-JS1 #AI-HIRING The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
