Ability to recognize essential mechanical components within HVAC systems and understand their function. Accurately troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues such as motors, pumps, components of plumbing for steam & hot/chilled water. Knowledge of AHU and attached systems to perform preventive maintenance work orders. (coil cleaning, filters, belts, grease, MER tidiness) Ability to use iPad to receive and complete daily work orders Ability to read mechanical drawings, schedules, schematics, wiring diagrams This is a full time day shift position including other shifts/weekends/holidays as needed, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Preferred Criteria: Associates Degree Minimum of two (2) years hand-on experience with components of a mechanical environmental systems, some electrical experience. Vocational or technical school training.  Required Criteria: High School Diploma or GED FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Fireguard F-60 within probation   FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Use of Flammable Gases G-60 within probation Knowledge of mechanical equipment Knowledge of commercial sprinkler systems.
