Location Brooklyn, New York Shift: Day (United States of America) Description: Join the team at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, a 591-bed hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality, most compassionate care to patients.  The vibrant, family and community culture offers you the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across all areas of the Hospital, and work with a team of engaged individuals all focused on improving patient care.  Find out how you can Make It Possible:  In this role, he/she evaluates and counsels' pediatric patients in our outpatient GI and weight loss practices.  Responsibilities include.  Nutritional assessment, care plan development, reassessment and education. Document in the medical chart all dietary information regarding the patient.  Provide care consistent with the NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital’s policies and HIPAA regulations.  This is a full-time day shift position 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Preferred Criteria: 1 year of experience with knowledge of medical nutrition therapy. Peds experience preferred. Required Criteria: Must have bachelor’s degree, with completion of an ADA approved internship. Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Certification by the State of New York as a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist NYS – certification Knowledge of clinical nutrition with emphasis on nutritional needs of the patients. Excellent counseling skills and the ability to relate to a multiethnic community and varied learning levels Good critical thinking skills to be able to make fast and accurate assessment of patients.
