Software Test Engineer 2: Illumina is seeking a highly driven and talented software engineer in test to join the R&D organization, where we are developing novel informatics solutions for Illumina’s multi-omics technologies.  You will work with software engineers and bioinformatics scientists to assess, propose and develop test solution(s) for next-generation sequencing software. Responsibilities: Work with software engineers and bioinformatics scientists to understand analysis algorithms and develop test solution(s). Create detailed test cases that cover various scenarios to validate software functionality, performance, and security. Conduct end-to-end testing of web application. Identify, report, and track defects, working closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution. Prepare necessary test artifacts required for formal software / product release Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback on software quality. Contribute to the overall quality assurance process by participating in reviews, inspections, and audits. Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, data science or a related field. Minimum 2 years of SQA experience in cloud software testing is required. Domain Knowledge in molecular biology and hands on experience in bioinformatics tools is a plus. Familiarity with CI/CD, Continuous Testing, and related tools such as Git, Jenkins. Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or others is a plus. Experience writing verification plans, test cases, defects reports, executing & managing test cases using test cases management system and writing verification reports. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to identify potential issues and provide solutions.
