About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Role:   Java Developer   Your mission is to design, create and maintain our backend applications that power our strategic metadata platform. You possess a profound knowledge of core Java , appreciation for the value of metadata enabling governance and quality and have a preference for creating frameworks rather than utilizing existing ones.       The Team   The Distribution & Data Platforms development team consists of passionate individuals who thrive on innovation and collaboration. It is a unique and challenging role that calls for a strong passion for quality and technology, while providing an immense opportunity to design and develop wide reaching code.       The role includes work on architecture design, business logic, requirements gathering, data modelling , systems integration, and quality assurance.   If you rather build frameworks instead of using them, this is the role for you!   What we're looking for   We are looking for creative people with a passion for programming and an eye for detail.   A recognized academic background in Computer Science.  Must have 8+ years of relevant experience with solid expertise in Java 17 or higher.   Experience & solid understanding building multi-threaded and concurrent systems within distributed architectures.  Familiarity with cloud-native/ SaaS metadata catalogs.  Experience with Backend/API integration is a plus Experience with Terraform is required.  Experience with Python is a plus.  Experience with test-driven development.  Experience with RDF concepts and SPARQL is a plus.  If you prefer using frameworks instead of building them, this role is not for you.  What’s In It For You?
