The price reporter will typically be able to finish work by 5pm, depending on commodity market conditions. Responsibilities and Impact: The Senior Price Reporter is responsible for reporting on daily physical trading activity. The market reporter will gather, test, and publish price information in real-time, and obtain an understanding of supply-demand fundamentals through daily interactions with primary market participants. They will also conduct price assessments based on established methodology, contribute to its development, and write and lead insightful market commentaries, news and analysis pieces. The reporter is also expected to participate in multi-media coverage, such as webinars and presentations, including representing Commodity Insights at industry events. The reporter is also responsible for engaging with market participants, while building and managing a database of industry contacts. The reporter also identifies opportunities to refine methodology and launch new price assessments with the goal to advance growth in the Chemicals team. Opportunities to travel, including internationally for industry events and conferences, where you may have the chance to represent S&P Global Commodity Insights as a speaker. You will also have the chance to represent CI in face-to-face meetings, in webinars, podcasts, or other interviews. You will assist in identifying, developing, and executing assessment opportunities to drive growth in chemical markets across Latin America and the US. What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications : Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills Ability to perform well to tight deadlines Excellent English speaking and writing skills Culturally and socially sensitive Additional Preferred Qualifications : Experience or knowledge of the chemicals, polymer or refining sectors or a keen interest in commodities and global commodity markets Knowledge of economic principles Strong numeracy skills including ability to understand the basic principles of statistics. Written and oral fluency in Spanish and English is a must, Portuguese will be a plus.
