Department Overview The Specialty Cameras Engineering team is responsible for developing cameras for special applications, such as environments with explosive or highly corrosive atmospheres or long range surveillance for border projection. The products are aimed at public and commercial safety. The team is responsible for the development of the complete products, including hardware, firmware and mechanics and takes care of the whole development life-cycle that includes development, testing and maintenance of the systems we build. We work in two teams, one in Schio, Italy, and one in Ware, United Kingdom. Moreover, the Specialty Cameras team works with colleagues located in Vancouver (CA), Fresno (US), and Penang (MY). Job Description Designs and analyzes products for cosmetic and functional housing, internal components, and development, including evaluation of existing standard parts. Verifies designs using CAE, manual methods, and functional test. Designs and performs experiments for verification of analysis. Responsibilities: Use of 3-D modeling software to design parts, assemblies and mechanisms using a variety of materials and fabrication technologies. Estimation of work and cost required to complete proposed tasks. Creating and maintaining progress reports Creation of detailed production-quality fabrication drawings, design documentation, and assembly drawings for new and existing parts Specification and development of designs, prototypes, and test fixtures Mechanical Testing and verification of parts/products and report creation Design resource during the ECR (Engineering Change Request) process  Support related activities such as maintaining Engineering workshop, tools, jigs and fixtures etc. Progetta e analizza prodotti per custodie (housing) estetiche e funzionali, componenti interni e sviluppo, inclusa la valutazione di parti standard esistenti. Verifica i progetti utilizzando l'analisi assistita da computer (CAE), metodi manuali e test funzionali. Progetta ed esegue esperimenti per la verifica dell'analisi. Responsabilità: Utilizzo di software di modellazione 3D per progettare parti, assemblaggi e meccanismi impiegando una varietà di materiali e tecnologie di fabbricazione. Stima del lavoro e dei costi necessari per completare le attività proposte. Creazione e mantenimento di rapporti sullo stato di avanzamento. Creazione di disegni di fabbricazione dettagliati con qualità di produzione, documentazione di progetto e disegni di assemblaggio per parti nuove ed esistenti. Specificazione e sviluppo di progetti, prototipi e attrezzature di prova (test fixtures). Test e verifica meccanica di parti/prodotti e creazione di rapporti. Risorsa di progettazione durante il processo ECR (Engineering Change Request - Richiesta di Modifica Tecnica). Supporto delle attività correlate come la manutenzione dell'officina di Ingegneria, degli strumenti, delle dime e delle attrezzature (jigs and fixtures), ecc. Basic Requirements Bachelor / Master degree in Mechanical Engineering Fluent in English (spoken and written) 3-D modelling experience with any major parametric CAD software (Creo experience is an asset) Knowledge of material properties, manufacturing techniques, adhesives, coatings and fasteners Willingness to visit the office in Schio on a regular basis (min. 2 days per week) Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise documentation Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and independently and work within a team A demonstrated pragmatic approach to problem solving Ability to design for manufactur Ability to implement designs that are ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing would be an asset Ability to justify design decisions with calculations, analysis and written documentation would be an asset   Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check. Requisiti: Laurea Triennale/Magistrale in Ingegneria Meccanica. Fluente in Inglese (parlato e scritto). Esperienza di modellazione 3D con qualsiasi software CAD parametrico principale (l'esperienza con Creo è un vantaggio). Conoscenza delle proprietà dei materiali , delle tecniche di fabbricazione, degli adesivi, dei rivestimenti e degli elementi di fissaggio. Disponibilità a visitare l'ufficio di Schio regolarmente (minimo 2 giorni a settimana). Eccellenti capacità di comunicazione scritta e orale, inclusa la capacità di produrre documentazione chiara e concisa. Automotivato con la capacità di apprendere rapidamente e in autonomia e di lavorare in squadra. Approccio pragmatico dimostrato alla risoluzione dei problemi. Capacità di progettare tenendo conto della fabbricazione ( Design for Manufacturability ). La capacità di implementare progetti ergonomici ed esteticamente gradevoli è considerata un vantaggio. La capacità di giustificare le decisioni di progettazione con calcoli, analisi e documentazione scritta è considerata un vantaggio.
