The Product Manager, Pricing & Packaging plays a critical role in shaping how Cable One (Sparklight, Hargray, Fidelity, ValuNet) prices and positions its broadband products. This role partners closely with the Sr. Manager of Pricing and Sr. Director of Promotions & Offer Strategy to translate business objectives into actionable pricing models, promotional test plans, and revenue insights. This position is the analytical engine of the pricing function — building models, conducting scenario analyses, and surfacing insights that guide rate adjustments, offer design, and packaging decisions. The ideal candidate combines financial modeling expertise with strong business judgment, enabling the organization to balance customer growth, competitiveness, and customer value. Scope of Responsibility 1. Broadband Pricing & Packaging Analytics Build and maintain pricing models to evaluate rate adjustments, packaging strategies, and ARPU growth scenarios. Quantify customer and revenue impacts of price changes, including take-rate shifts and retention risk. Analyze elasticity by tier, customer segment, and market type Support Sr. Manager of Pricing in annual rate planning and forecast alignment with Finance. Identify opportunities to simplify rate cards and improve margin performance through mix optimization. 2. Promotions & Offer Strategy Support Partner with Sr. Director of Promotions & Offer Strategy to model the financial impact of promotional offers (e.g., 3-month free, save-a-customer credits, upgrade incentives). Develop campaign ROI models measuring incremental adds, ARPU lift, and payback period. Conduct test analysis to quantify elasticity and retention impact of different promotional mechanics. Track performance of active offers and identify optimization opportunities by channel or customer cohort. Maintain a structured library of pricing and promotion tests, outcomes, and learnings. 3. Insights & Decision Support Serve as the subject matter expert for broadband pricing and offer analytics. Provide ad hoc and recurring insights to leadership on revenue performance, discount penetration, and promo ROI. Partner with Product, Finance, and Analytics teams to align data sources, assumptions, and metric definitions. Deliver clear summaries and recommendations that inform go/no-go and optimization decisions. 4. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with Finance to align on revenue forecasting and elasticity assumptions. Partner with BI / Data Engineering to enhance automation and data quality of pricing dashboards. Work with Product Management and Marketing to connect pricing insights with product and campaign strategy. Core KPIs ARPU Growth: Contribution of pricing actions and offer optimizations to overall ARPU lift. Revenue Retention: % of revenue retained post-promo or rate adjustment. Promo ROI: Incremental revenue / payback period of promotional campaigns. Discount Penetration: Share of base receiving promo or discount vs. strategic targets. Pricing Accuracy: Consistency between modeled and actual performance post-change. Key Competencies Analytical Depth: Expert at building and interpreting complex financial and elasticity models. Business Acumen: Can connect modeling outputs to real-world trade-offs and customer behavior. Collaboration: Works fluidly with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to influence decisions. Communication: Translates quantitative findings into concise, actionable insights. Curiosity: Seeks to understand not just “what happened” but “why” and “what to do next.” Ideal Background 4–6 years of experience in pricing strategy, product analytics, or financial modeling (telecom, subscription, or similar recurring revenue business preferred). Strong command of Excel and/or SQL; familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a quantitative field (MBA or advanced analytics coursework a plus). Experience partnering with Finance and Marketing to evaluate revenue trade-offs and promotional ROI. Comfort operating in a matrixed environment — influencing without direct authority.
