The Opportunity The Adobe Journey Optimizer Team in Digital Experience Business Unit is building scalable, performant services and tools to enable our enterprise customers with extraordinary solution that allows them to reach and connect with end-users. We are a team of passionate storytellers, technology innovators, and change agents. If you have expertise in developing on top of the JVM platform (Java, Scala), know how to build applications and web services at scale and you are interested in learning new technologies, we would be very interested in talking to you. In addition to backend engineering, this role also offers opportunities to learn and contribute to Adobe’s AI initiatives , including building AI-powered solutions and agentic workflows that enhance customer experience, reliability, and intelligence within Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO). What will you do Build, Develop, Test & Deploy micro-services for implementing product features Design/Architect solutions to implement functionality across multiple micro services Design Services that scale horizontally, perform at high throughput and low latencies Participating in all aspects of software development activities, including design, coding, code review, unit/integration testing, bug fixing, and code/API documentation Working in multi-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality product features Design/Build/Architect solutions for monitoring and alerting of anomalies in production environment Design & Build End-To-End Tests to ensure high quality and reduce regressions. Help build fast prototyping of ideas and concepts and researching the latest industry trends. Contribute to the development of AI solutions and agentic workflows that enhance customer experience within Adobe Journey Optimizer. Partner with senior engineers and AI specialists to integrate state-of-the-art models into practical product experiences (model building not required). Analyze system behavior and historical patterns to help design predictive and intelligent features that improve reliability, issue resolution, and system resilience. Participate in the creation of reusable frameworks and best practices for operationalizing AI features across AJO services. What you need to succeed BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree 6+ years of software engineering experience having built highly maintainable, scalable systems with Java/Scala or comparable strongly typed language Experience working with streaming technologies like Kafka. Experience using NoSQL datastores like MongoDB, Aerospike, etc. as well as data access patterns and strategies Experience in designing and building micro services and RESTful services Experience in doing web application development with React.js, Node.js, etc is a plus Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus Proven ability to develop robust, efficient, high-quality code. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems using appropriate tools and techniques. Knowledge of modern development patterns: Agile, CI/CD, Kubernetes, micro-services architecture Knowledgeable of secure, scalable, and highly available service development practices. Great teammate with a thirst to learn and take ownership in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The U.S. pay range for this position is $139,000 -- $257,550 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In California, the pay range for this position is $177,900 - $257,550
 At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
