Interns will work on deriving actionable insights from data to ensure high-quality standards, measure product feature reliability, assess device ecosystem health, and enhance engineering operational efficiency. This role involves heavy reliance on cross-functional partnerships, collaborating with software engineers and product managers to enable data collection, improve metric fidelity, and develop technical data products and intelligence systems.Who Are You?You are a curious, collaborative, resourceful, and motivated student who is eager to learn from a team of senior engineers. You possess a passion for problem-solving and are comfortable tackling complex, open-ended challenges using data-driven solutions.Must-HavesCurrently enrolled in a full-time accredited academic program (M.S., or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field graduating in December 2026, Summer 2027 or later.To be intern-eligible, you must be returning to school for one semester or quarter post-Summer internship.Hands-on keyboard experience with data analysis.High proficiency in the standard data science tech stack.Experience leveraging distributed systems for large-scale data processing.Proficiency in SQL.Experienced in Python or Java.Hands-on experience building intuitive schemas and data models for datasetsExcellent communication and collaboration skills.Nice-to-HavesExperience leveraging statistical inference and machine learning models to present actionable insights.Working knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Plotly, Matplotlib).Ability to convey complex data insights to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds.A positive attitude that welcomes opportunities to give and receive candid feedback.A tendency to perceive ambiguity as an opportunity to explore possibilities.Excitement about security or complex problem domainsWhat You'll DoAs an Analytics Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of an end-to-end analytics project or tool. Your responsibilities will typically include:Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze large and complex data sets from various sources.Defining foundational data models and working toward the productization of the final analytical tool.Analyzing request patterns, identifying new signals, performing anomaly detection, and recommending adjustments based on quantified impact.Creating insightful data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau to help stakeholders easily understand and act upon data.Collaborating with engineers during the development process to gather feedback and iterate on design improvements.Communicating key insights and developing dashboards to cascade them to a wide range of stakeholders across the organization.The Summer InternshipAt Netflix, we offer a personalized experience for interns, and our aim is to offer an experience that mimics what it is like to actually work here.
