Inspired by our own Stranger Things, Hawkins is a centralized system that supports both our Consumer and Enterprise businesses, and it's rapidly evolving to keep pace with the global needs of our millions of members.We’re looking for an incredible System Designer to partner with the Commerce team to extend Hawkins to their unique domain requirements. Your passion for quality at scale, creative innovation and ability to reimagine how designers and engineers collaborate will be essential to driving success.ResponsibilitiesEmbed within key Commerce business initiatives to ensure strong system alignment and meaningful evolutions to Hawkins.Define, maintain and evolve emerging domain and core components, patterns and guidance, refining designs based on user feedback, A/B testing, and insights from cross-functional teams.Define and maintain frameworks for centralizing components into Hawkins, and prioritize the graduation of domain-specific components into Hawkins Core.Create sustainable extensions of the core design system to support emerging creative expression and enable differentiated, cohesive experiences.Develop and deliver educational programming tailored to the maturity and context of our Commerce XD partners to support better system adoption and usage.Support scalable adoption strategies which address the unique testing requirements set by the Commerce team.Establish scalable methods to assess and track design system adoption.Champion the design system by advocating best practices and providing real-time support through office hours and Slack.QualificationsAt Netflix, all roles are expected to exemplify thevalues outlined in our culture. Below are some specific behaviors, experiences, and skills to be successful in this role.5+ years of experience as a System Designer, in addition to previously working as a product designer.Expert in Figma, with experience creating, maintaining, and evolving design libraries, and expertise in design systems tools and workflows (e.g., Storybook, design tokens).Experience designing for payment products with a strong foundation in platform constraints and capabilities.A track record of governing and contributing to design systems by defining standards, delivering impactful, scalable solutions, and driving adoption across teams and platforms.Confident in your ability to break down and solve complex problems, balancing tactical execution with system-level thinking.Recognized as a trusted partner and mentor, fostering growth and collaboration by empowering peers and cross-functional teams to adopt best practices and deliver scalable design solutions.Comfortable navigating ambiguity while bringing clarity to challenges that span design, technology, and business needs.An understanding of A/B testing and how to use data to inform and iterate on design decisions.A passion for accessibility and inclusive design, with a commitment to ensuring all components meet industry standards.Pay TransparencyOur compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is$120,000 - $515,000Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
