Come join us!Job SummaryAre you an up-and-coming Houdini technical artist, someone who is proactive, has great communication skills and a passion for problem-solving? We are looking for a keen technical assistant to help our CFX team with our latest animated feature.What You’ll DoWork closely with our CFX supervision team and pipeline TDs to identify and debug common issues facing productionTroubleshoot common problems with animation deliveries, suggest workarounds and fixesTest and validate new releases of Houdini CFX rigsAssist CFX artists with day-to-day issues and glitches and escalate those issues through the right channels when they aren't immediately addressableAssist with the technical workflow for the CFX departmentCommunicate and promote repeatable, pipeline-based workflows that ensure data security and efficiency throughout the whole productionCreate and update documentation that supports CFX processesEstablish close partnerships with Animation and FX staff and other TD groupsWhat You’ll Need6 months of experience on an animated/VFX feature, working as a TA, is desirable but not a requirementExperience with HoudiniExperience with cloth, fur and feather tools is preferableExperience using Linux in a production environment is preferableExcellence in proactive problem-solving skillsAn adaptable approach with the ability to balance your workload, the needs of artists, and production deadlinesThe ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work across multiple areas under pressureExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenWilling to learn and contribute to the success of the team and projectThis role is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hybrid Role (Minimum of 3 days a week in the office).At NAS, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The overall market range for this role is typically $72K - 100K CAD.
