We are seeking Distributed Systems Engineers to help evolve and innovate our Product and Infrastructure. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that brings new perspectives as we address the next set of challenges.Team SpotlightsData Platform Product Enhancement TeamThis team is responsible for building strategic user-facing products for the Netflix Data Platform, serving a variety of business-critical needs. The immediate focus is on building and operating batch data connectors that support data movement across Netflix. These connectors will be integrated with our flagship product, Data Bridge, offering users a consolidated, managed data movement platform. In the future, this team will collaborate with other Data Platform product domains to enhance offerings in real-time connectors, search infrastructure for data discovery, product metrics instrumentation, and more.Data Platform Infrastructure Tooling TeamThis team delivers value by innovating in infrastructure and tooling to support strategic initiatives within the Data Platform. The team complements existing domain-specific infrastructure teams and partners closely with them on projects such as advancing testing infrastructure, developing reference applications, and implementing testing solutions. The team also works on bringing stateful systems onto the Netflix streamlined “paved path” for operational ease, developing tools for automated migrations, and establishing correctness and performance parity.This could be a great opportunity for you if you enjoy:Solving business needs at scale by applying your software engineering and analytical problem-solving skillsDesigning and building robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructureLeading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and technical program managers across teamsSharing experiences with open source communities and contributing to Netflix OSSAbout you:7 or more years of experience designing and building complex, scalable distributed data infrastructureProficiency in Java, C++, Python, or Scala, with a solid understanding of multi-threading and memory managementExperience with the Spark platform is valuableDemonstrated experience developing and maintaining impactful systemsExperience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systemsYou have developed your skills through a variety of educational or professional experiences in computer science, engineering, or a related fieldA few more things about us:As a team, we come from many different backgrounds and countries.
