A job at #Sasol is a career made by you, with purpose, development opportunities, benefits to support every stage of life and a working culture that embraces flexibility, diversity, and inclusion. __ Purpose of Job Reporting to the Discipline #Engineering Lead; Instrument #Engineer supporting Discipline Engineering and #Project #Delivery functions for the #Americas. __ Responsible for subject matter expertise in instrument engineering supporting ongoing #operations, #maintenance, turnaround, and new capital project engineering and delivery. __ Key Accountabilities Provide authoritative #technical subject matter expertise in Instrument __ Engineering for industrial process plant instrumentation infrastructure and facilities. Should be a recognized expert in the field. __ Lead and participate in technical #forensic #analysis, Fitness for Service, RCA, and investigation of instrumented systems and instrumentation deficiencies. __ Evaluate the risk verses benefits of complex problems and decision analyses and take and / or formulate appropriate actions. __ Provide support to all departments and levels of the business and strategic guidance to senior and executive management. This includes knowing when to communicate to management, and what communication is appropriate to a particular level of management. Engineer of record for on-site instrument engineering and design. __ Support capital projects and business development with appropriate guidance in concept development and FEL. A solid understanding of the FEL process is required. __ Work with interdisciplinary project teams in scope development to ensure completeness and minimal change impact. __ Support of engineering activities including engineering / design quality assurance, technical or stage / gate reviews, execution planning, etc. __ Ensure #compliance with Company, industry, and regulatory requirements, and support the waiver process when necessary. Development and maintenance of Company standards and specifications. Audit and technical assessments of instrumentation vendors and contractors. Support the Change Management Process, with safety focus as the top priority.
