We are seeking a Junior Systems Engineer at the Honeywell office in Porto Sant'Elpidio (FM). This role will be responsible for the design and technical development of Inertial Navigation Systems for various types of applications (space, aerospace, terrestrial, underground). __ The main activities will include: analyzing customer requirements, generating the system architecture and set of formal system requirements, defining applicable methods for requirements validation, specifying the procedures needed to verify the design, supporting the correct installation of the product on the target platform, overall coordination of system development, integration, and qualification/certification activities, and maintaining ongoing technical contact with the customer for all aspects of the design. __ This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers through hands-on experience, mentorship, and growth opportunities within Honeywell. __ Responsibilities and Duties Identification of high-level system/hardware/software requirements for Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) and Attitude and Heading Reference Systems (AHRS) Deriving requirements from INS/AHRS to the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) Static and dynamic analysis of IMU performance INS/AHRS/IMU integration and testing planning with complex software and hardware __ Supervision of low-level requirements assigned to the various subassemblies and components (mechanical parts, electronic boards, optical and optoelectronic components, software and firmware modules (FPGA), configuration parameters) Organization and management of documentation for the development of inertial systems for civil and military aircraft according to the ARP4754A standard Management of system qualification according to internationally recognized standards, such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 __ Review and approval of technical design documentation and data relating to the system under development Analysis and approval of acceptance test reports, qualification reports, similarity analyses and all technical studies related to the system under development Timely release of all deliverables required to achieve contractual milestones, as directed by the Program Manager Providing detailed activity planning for setting and periodically updating the Program Master Schedule (Gantt chart), in collaboration with the Project Controller Interface with company departments, such as Product Engineering, Prototype Production, Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing Participation in the definition of new products to support the company's technology roadmap and marketing strategy Evaluation of the technical specifications included in the tender/RFP documentation package, to contribute to the preparation of the technical proposal and the compilation of the requirements compliance matrix Technical reference role and main interface with the customer, in coordination and harmonization with the Program Manager Technical interface with subcontractors, supporting the Purchasing office
