Overall Purpose: The CAD Production Design–High Jewelry supports and facilitates all aspects related to internal manufacturing projects. The role ensures design and manufacturing objectives and timeline commitments are met while maintaining aesthetic and product integrity. The position focuses on #DesignForManufacturing, #ProductFunctionality, and technical design elements including #Aesthetics. This individual works closely with the #IMTeam, #Design, #JDIW, #ProductDevelopment, and #TWS to provide #CAD models that result in the highest quality finished product at the best manufacturing yield throughout all phases of project development. Key Accountabilities: Prototype & File Creation * Translate concepts into 3D #CAD models, overseeing #ProductFunctionality and technical design elements to ensure #DesignForManufacturability, design intent, and quality requirements are met. * Plan, create, and develop all 3D CAD models for new and existing products, including #ReverseEngineering, following department best practices and #ModelingTechniques. * Create technical drawings for components by translating designs into accurate 3D models that meet critical #JewelryManufacturing requirements. * Ensure all models adhere to #CADModeling best practices and #ManufacturingStandards. * Create, maintain, and organize 2D and 3D shared design standards, specifications, and templates. Prepare engineering and design materials in compliance with #Archiving procedures. * Provide timely and innovative #CADSolutions to complex mechanical problems throughout the production life cycle. * Identify opportunities for #ContinuousQualityImprovement and efficiency creation within the department. Rapid Prototyping * Perform regular #3DPrint setups and conduct routine maintenance on all machines. * Manage #PostProcessing of 3D prints from office 3D printers. * Communicate printing supplies and material needs to Management, organize supplies, and facilitate material ordering and waste removal. Communication * Ensure key #ProductCreation process dates are met and cross-functional teamwork occurs. Monitor and ensure adherence to #Timelines and accurate project completion. * Communicate effectively to keep the team updated on #ProjectStatus, issues, and concerns. * Identify and communicate potential barriers to meeting completion timelines as soon as they arise. * Actively participate in #Brainstorming sessions and proactively flag critical issues that may impact design, aesthetic, manufacturing, or final product quality. Support for Cross-Functional Partners * Partner with internal teams to oversee CAD development regarding project direction, concept art review, and timelines. * Provide relevant updates and propose solutions to Senior CAD Designers, Management, and cross-functional departments. * Attend internal meetings with Management to provide feedback on new or updated standards, templates, and processes. * Proactively communicate #RisksAndOpportunities to US-based counterparts. * Support internal and external suppliers by demonstrating product requirements and techniques. Collaboration & Leadership * Identify opportunities for #Improvement and #Efficiency within the area of responsibility and the overall department. * Lead by example by sharing learnings, outcomes, and innovative approaches to foster #CollaborativeGrowth and #IdeaExchange within the CAD team. Technology Leader * Research and operationalize #InnovativeProcesses during the design, concept, and #Prototyping stages. * Propose, develop, and enhance #CADWorkflows and supporting communication tools. * Remain current with #IndustryStandards related to CAD, #ModelMaking, #Goldsmithing, #Metalsmithing, and material properties. * Work with #IT and management to implement and troubleshoot new and existing #CADTechnology, including software upgrades and modern technology implementation.
