The Cost Technologies team is looking for an experienced Cost and Value Engineer to add to our VCPLab Team (Variable Cost Productivity). The Senior Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional and business objectives addressing product cost-out and producibility opportunities in all phases of the product's life cycle. As an Engineering Commodity Integration Leader this role will require strong partnerships across Engineering, Manufacturing shops, Sourcing suppliers and Product lines to identify, develop, and integrate new cost strategies, design changes, and supply chain process improvements to meet business cost and productivity objectives. Join us and help move the aerospace industry forward. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Knowledge and experience partnering with suppliers to make cost improvements. Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the #design, #analysis, #manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (Rotordynamics, vibrations) behavior of mechanical systems Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility. __ Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects both independently as well as through partnership to deliver cost reduction. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
